DESCRIPTION
A traditional favourite for succession sowings, featuring long white stems and bright green tops. Delicious when young with a mild flavour that grows more pungent as bulbs swell. Also effective as a companion plant to deter carrot fly.

GROWING TIPS
Multi-sowing: Fill module trays with compost, water and let settle. Make finger holes and sow 6-7 seeds per cell. Cover lightly with compost, keep moist until seedlings reach 8-10cm tall. Transplant clumps 10cm apart and harvest largest onions first to allow smaller ones to grow.
Direct sow outdoors: Scatter seeds thinly in rows 30cm apart in full sun to partial shade on well-drained, fertile soil as soon as ground can be worked in spring.
Germination: 10–14 days. Harvest: 60–120 days.
