Growing the Game: Why Supporting Women’s Rugby Matters to Alexandra Seeds

At Alexandra Seeds, we believe that growth starts small; with the right support, the right environment, and a little patience.

That’s why we’re incredibly proud to be sponsoring a women’s rugby player from Chinnor Kites. Amelie Kotrie was one of the original seven players when the club first launched a girls’ under-13s team, and she now represents the Chinnor Kites in the women’s squad. Watching her grow from those early grassroots days into a confident women’s rugby player has been incredibly inspiring and a reminder that with the right support, time, and belief, great things really do grow.

Women’s rugby is one of the fastest-growing sports in the UK, built on dedication, teamwork, and a strong sense of community. From grassroots clubs to packed side-lines, the sport is thriving, and it’s inspiring to see more women and girls stepping onto the pitch with confidence and ambition.

In many ways, it mirrors what we do with seeds.

Every seed holds potential. With care, encouragement, and the right conditions, it grows stronger, just like players, teams, and communities. Whether you’re sowing seeds in your garden or supporting women’s sport, you’re investing in something bigger than the moment.

We’re proud to support local sport, local people, and the power of growth, both on the rugby pitch and in the garden.

Here’s to strong roots, new beginnings, and watching something amazing grow.
